Hi Katherine, I am 85 years old - or young - and have fallen into the trap you clearly describe. My husband died three years ago - we'd been married for 63 years - I still miss him, and yes new aches and pains arrive daily - especially as I try to play pickleball, and I forget things. But, there are so many good things in life as well - you remind it's time to focus more on them - the chance to write, the giggles of a great granddaughter, my cats, and on and on. What have I learned as I age - there is more to learn!

You sound like you are doing a great job of finding the pleasures despite the many challenges as you age. Keep on treking, Janice.

Katherine,

I love your post. I am a young 80, and practice all the good things you champion. I started writing on my tremendously adventurous life. I lost my wonderful wife good two years ago but will pay tribute to her in my writings. I am rejuvenating, changed my diet, and exercise wisely. Your post is an inspiration to follow suit.
